Easter Cake: 1st layer with poppy seeds, 2nd layer with walnuts and the 3rd layer with raisins. Turn some heads at your next social gathering with the Flower Cake. It’s also a powerhouse that will do shock your tastebuds back to life when you’re about done with sitting at a wedding.

Ingredients:

 

 

You’ll need 12 eggs, 1/4th of a cup of poppy seeds, 3 cups of sugar, 1/4th of a cup of raisins, 1/4th of a cup of crushed walnuts, 2 teaspoons of baking soda, 2 and 1/2 cups of flower, a pack of unsalted butter, a can of condensed milk, and a lemon.

 

 

Directions:

 

 

1.) In a large mixing bowl add all your eggs yolks and beat them at medium speed. While mixing gradually add your sugar and beat until your mixture becomes about double the original size. After that, add your sifted flour slowly while mixing it in with a spatula. Then, divide your dough into 3 separate bowl’s.

 

 

2.) In one of your bowls add poppy seeds, in the other one add raisins. Next, add your crushed walnuts to the last bowl. Mix each bowl well.

 

 

3.) Pour your three different mixtures into separate baking pans with parchment papers on them. Bake each pan for 25 minutes at 350ºF. In your mixing bowl add your butter and beat it at a medium speed until it’s fluffy and white.

 

 

4.) Next, add condensed milk while the mixer is on medium speed. Also, squeeze as much juice as you can out of your lemon and add that in as well. Stack all 3 of your cake layers and cut around the edges so they are all the same size. Shred the scraps from the pieces that you cut off the cake until you have a powdery texture. Cover each cake layer with cream and connect them. Then cover the top and sides of the cake with cream. Lastly, cut your cake in half and place the pieces on top of each other. Finally cut your cake in half and place the pieces on top of each other. Using the crumbs from earlier cover the top of the cake. Cut and Enjoy!
