This salad is delicious and much easier to make then sushi, but it tastes just as good. I used spicy mayo on the inside because we all love it in my family, but you can also use soy sauce instead if you like it more. Give it a try.
Recipe type: Salad
  • 1 cup of rice
  • 2 cups of water
  • 3 teaspoons of salt
  • 5 tablespoons of sugar
  • 3 cucumbers
  • 1 avocado
  • 6 tablespoons of rice vinegar
  • 2 sticks of celary
  • half lb of smoked salmon
  • 7 crab sticks
  • for spicy mayo 4 tablespoons of mayo/ 5 drops of hot sauce
  • 3 Sea Weed Leafs for Decorations
  • 1 tbsp of Sushikko
  1. Wash/Peel/Dice all the vegetables, salmon, and crab sticks. Add rice into a pot of water and bring to a boiling point, then lower the temp and cook for additional 10 minutes. In a separate pot add sugar, salt , and rice vinegar and cook until sugar and salt melts.(make sure to mix lightly)
  2. After rice cools down, pour vinegar mixture in and mix well. I made spicy mayo (5 drops of hot sauce and mayo mixed) and I used it as a sauce for the salad. If you like soy sauce you can use it instead of spicy mayo. We divided rice into ½ . In a medium size bowl, I mixed all the ingredients as shown in the picture above with spicy mayo and half of the rice.As you see in the picture above in cut seaweed and it will be used for the sides of the salad.
  3. I placed the salad in a square shape on a plate, and covered it all with rice. Then cover the top with sushikko and the sides with seaweed.
