Poppy Seed Cookies: we love anything with poppy seeds in it and they are no exception.
Ingredients
You’ll need 1 pack of imperial meringue, 8 oz of cream cheese, 4 egg yolks, 2 and 1/2 cups of sifted flour, 1/2 tablespoon of baking soda, 1 tablespoon of vinegar, and 1 cup of poppy seeds.
Directions
1.) In a large bowl place your imperial meringue butter (room temperature), flour and cheese cream. Mix using your hands and add your eggs In a separate small bowl mix your vinegar and baking soda. Next, add your baking soda and vinegar mix from the small bowl to the large bowl from step 1 and mix the contents of the large bowl well. Knead the contents of the large bowl into dough. Place your dough on a lightly floured surface and split into two pieces.
2.) Roll out your dough and spread poppy seed butter on top with an icing spatula. Next, roll up your dough into a roulette shape and cut it into even individual pieces. Then, using your hands close up the bottoms of your Poppy Seed Cookies and make them as flat as possible.
3.) Place all of your cookies on a baking sheet with parchment paper on it. Bake them for 25 minutes at 350ºF in your oven. Finally place them on a serving dish and enjoy.
