Honey Waffle Cakes are one of my favorite Slavic desserts, seriously this is my all time favorite since childhood. Children love sweets and this is the cream of the crop. Once you’ve had some of this goodness it will be a regular at your table, also Honey Waffle Cakes really compliments coffee or tea.

Ingredients

You’ll need 1 cup of honey, 1 cup of sugar, 1 stick of butter, 1 cup of dry walnuts, and 1 package of wafers.

Directions

Honey Waffle Cakes

1.)  First, crush the wall nuts. Next get a bowl and add honey, sugar and butter. Place your bowl on a double boiler and gradually mix until everything melts. Add your walnuts to your bowl and mix. Using a spatula apply your walnut mixture to each wafer and place another piece on top.

2.) Make each waffle cake 3 pieces thick and place something heavy on top so it sticks together. Cut your waffle cakes with a knife into small pieces. Place them on a plate and watch all your grandkids, nieces and nephews run to consume the whole bowl before, might as well join the frenzy. Hopefully they know how to share with adults. I’m glad you learned how to make honey wafers here, feel free to leave a comment or question and to check out some of our other recipes.
